Since its inception in 1995, ABi has developed new concepts and innovative projects, which have served to assist both start-up and established businesses. Where appropriate we can also work in with you to adapt one of our existing projects to fit in with your requirements.
We can work with you to develop a project to meet a particular business support or regeneration need or to attract a specific funding stream.
Fit To Supply
A supply chain initiative that prepared minority businesses in the IT,
construction, food and health care industries for the private and
public sector procurement markets.
Fit to Supply worked with private and public sector organisations to
identify procurement needs that could be met by enterprises from
minority communities. The initiative also brought together purchasing
officers and minority businesses through a range of networking events.
In addition, mechanisms were provided to alert potential clients of
tendering opportunities and which enabled smaller minority businesses
to join together to form consortia allowing them to tender for larger
contracts.

Faith in Business
This initiative was devised by ABi to encourage, nurture and sustain
entrepreneurship within the London based African & Caribbean
community by reaching them through the Black Majority Churches and by
delivering business support from a Christian perspective.
Key features of this project included:
- church-based roadshows, workshops and seminars;
- assistance to build business groups within individual churches;
- producing Faith in Business branded business guides;
- the development of the Faith In Business Loan Fund to provide low
cost finance to small businesses who may have been refused financed by
other institutions.

Bollywood Brent
Bollywood’s equivalent of the Oscars, the International Indian Film
Awards (IIFA) was held in the UK for the first time in 2007. ABi used
this event to create and develop the Bollywood Brent concept to provide
an insight into the economic and commercial opportunities for Brent
based businesses and residents resulting from the global growth of the
Bollywood brand.
Bollywood Brent included:
- a series of master classes presented by successful entrepreneurs
which looked at ways to maximise the Bollywood brand to create a
successful business;
- music workshops with an experienced professional Bollywood music producer;
- a Bollywood themed showcase which was attended by over 500 people
and combined a small business expo with film and live music and dance.
